Nepal’s Finest is a coalition of five esteemed Fair Trade Group Nepal organizations, each Guaranteed by the World Fair Trade Organization for their commitment to quality, ethical production, and community impact. Together, these organizations present an array of handcrafted products that marry traditional Nepalese techniques with modern design, offering an exquisite range that reflects Nepal’s cultural heritage with a contemporary edge. Our artisans—primarily women—are empowered through sustainable incomes, skill development, and community support, enabling them to uplift their communities and enhance their livelihoods. Meet the Organizations of Nepal’s Finest
- Association for Craft Producers (ACP)
Established in 1984, ACP is a non-profit fair trade organization that preserves Nepalese craft traditions across a variety of skills, including weaving, metalwork, ceramics, and embroidery. Each piece blends heritage techniques with contemporary aesthetics, crafted by skilled artisans with an emphasis on perfection and cultural preservation. ACP promotes conscious consumerism by connecting artisans to sustainable markets, helping ensure these valuable crafts endure for future generations.
- Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS)
With nearly four decades of expertise, KTS specializes in high-quality, hand-knitted textiles and hand-knotted woolen carpets, crafted from natural materials. As a certified fair trade non-profit, KTS supports over 1,000 home-based women artisans from low-income families through income-generating initiatives, education, and vocational training. This sustainable model strengthens community resilience, fostering skill development and community empowerment in every product.
- Mahaguthi Craft With Conscience
Mahaguthi offers a range of lifestyle, gift, and home décor items that celebrate Nepalese culture, sustainability, and artisan craftsmanship. From pottery to carved jewelry and woven fabrics, each item showcases the soul and skill of the artisans. As a WFTO-accredited organization, Mahaguthi emphasizes fair trade principles, ensuring that profits benefit artisans and their communities. - Manushi
Founded in 1991, Manushi is a WFTO-certified organization that provides sustainable income opportunities for women through handcrafted, high-quality products made from eco-friendly materials. By integrating new designs and quality control, Manushi adapts to evolving markets while honoring traditional craftsmanship. Their range, from woven textiles to natural dyes, reflects Nepalese artisans’ creativity and precision. As a social business, Manushi focuses on uplifting economically disadvantaged women through training, fair wages, and income opportunities.
- Sana Hastakala
Established in 1989, Sana Hastakala preserves Nepal’s craft heritage through a diverse array of handmade products, including textiles, ceramics, and metal crafts. This non-profit fair trade organization engages over 1,200 artisans, primarily from marginalized communities, by providing fair wages, training, and essential health and community services. Sana Hastakala’s work fosters global appreciation for Nepalese crafts, combining traditional techniques with contemporary designs that tell the unique stories of each artisan.
